Basic Strategy

Ultimatum features game modes and map scenarios you are able to play while facing other players. Game Modes affect the gameplay and strategy involved in the game. Each game mode have specific requirements in order to win. Note that some maps do not support specific modes, as some modes (like Capture the Flag) require terrain objects like flag castles. (castles with blue flags)

War

War is the most common game mode of the rest. The goal for the War mode is to defeat the enemy leader(s). You will not be able to win if you lose your leader, unless you are on a team, and your team still has at least one leader alive. The winning team (or player) is the last team to stay alive with the leader. Most of the maps in Ultimatum support the war mode.

Strategy
  • Keep your leader in your castle keep. That way, you can recruit units all the time, and give a harder time for enemy units to kill your leader when you can recruit units on-the-fly.
  • To prevent invasions to your territory, keep a good line of defense. Units with the landlord ability are great defenders, as it takes a longer time to pass through them.
Capture the Flag

Capture the Flag mode is where you race against the other team to capture enemy flags. Your leader does not have to be alive to lose capture the flag. The goal of the game is to bring at least 2 enemy flags to your flag base. You lose if two of your flags are stolen. This mode is fun to play when there are 3 or more people in a free-for-all.

Defending a Siege

Defending a Siege is a mode where the purpose of the game is to invade the enemy's castle. The winner of the game is the player who survives the invasion last. Siege Implements are half the original price in this game mode.
